These are books every African person should read. We are taught little or nothing about our history; black history has been intentionally ‘white-washed’. We have become a people who don’t think. We live in fear and inferiority and that is what our children learn from us; and the societies in which they live perpetuate the fake narratives of the oppressors.
It is imperative that we not only learn but teach our youths. They must understand that they come from a people with a long history and who have made tremendous contributions to world history and civilization – contrary to what have been taught and inferred in many classrooms.
The lessons that will instill pride, purpose and understanding of self is not taught in the classrooms throughout the black experience. Many will not learn it unless you introduce their young eager minds to it.
